Sleepy Puppy

We were off to a bit of a slow start this morning and Tasha girl was feeling it to! She woke up only to move from the bed to the couch in the living room and immediately hid her face from the light under a blanket. I love this dog and her little personality!

Hope y'all had a great Leap Day! Happy Birthday to my sweet sister-in-law, Robyn, who celebrated her 12th real birthday today!

XOXO,

{Disneyland} Our Friend Mickey!

I was able to squeeze in just enough time last night to finish another page before Vince got home from work. I'm slowly making progress on the entire album and hopefully will be able to send it to print before Baby Brock arrives! We took so many pictures over just 4 days and it's hard to imagine them all scrapped, printed and ready to enjoy. We met Mickey at Disney's California Adventure. It was early December, so he was ready for Chrismas!

This Week's Meal Plan

Last week's meal plan was a success. We only strayed from the plan one night after a late AdvoCare meeting, so I was pretty pleased with how we did! I'm a little late putting together our meal plan for this week since I didn't make it to the grocery store till tonight, but here we go...

{Monday} Southwest Chicken Burritos with Black Beans & Rice
{Tuesday} Rosemary Roasted Chicken with Potatoes & Salad
{Wednesday} Taco Night
{Thursday} Leftovers
{Friday-Sunday} Vince will be in Shreveport with his buddies, so Tasha girl and I are happy to spend the weekend with my parents

Should be a fairly easy week for cooking since we'll be gone almost half the week. Happy Monday, everyone!

Weekend Roundup

Another weekend has come and gone...why is it that they always seem to end too quickly? Majority of my weekends nowadays consist of getting as much rest as possible. Baby Brock makes it hard for me to get through the work week, so I have to take advantage of the time I get to re-energize my batteries. However, Vince and I were fortunate to have some exciting things take place this weekend...

Saturday night Vincent's Uncle Kurt and Melinda took us out to dinner at Morton's Steakhouse. It was our first time dining there and we loved it! They had customized the menu to say "Congrats Vincent & Bri!" and they came by our table to take a commemorative picture of us that the staff signed signed for us to take home! Maybe I can talk Vince into taking me there again next time we have a special date night.

We spent Sunday morning at church before Vincent had to train a group of clients. While waiting for Vince I had a short visit with Bubba and Dad. Bubba brought over his puppy and gave Tasha a HUGE bone. We got a kick watching her try to chew it. She never gave up...too cute!

We had a quick dinner at Village Burger Bar before an AdvoCare mixer with our team in Frisco. We finished the evening watching the Academy Awards at home and I completed a few more pages for our Disney scrapbook.

{Disneyland} Partyin' with Pluto

We took a dream vacation to Disneyland this past December and loved every minute of it! We took so many pictures and videos, but working and getting ready for Baby Brock has kept me from starting on our scrapbook pages...until now! We met Pluto at Disney's California Adventure and stopped for a photo. We were surrounded by little kids waiting in line, but I guess that's part of the fun of being big kids at heart!

Hoping to get several more pages completed soon! At least I can cross one off the list!

An Incredible Journey

The last six months have been life-changing to say the least! We not only found out that we were expecting Baby Brock, but we also joined an amazing company that is changing our future for the better. In September, Vince & I became distributors for AdvoCare. We both had steady jobs that we enjoyed, but we struggled to save much from each paycheck to put towards our dream of one day owning our own gym. It was with a lot of faith and a little skepticism that we began our AdvoCare journey. We are in complete amazement with the success we've found over the past 6 months alone and we're enjoying the comfort of an extra paycheck each month! We wanted to share Vincent's product story with you and I'll hopefully have one of my own as soon as Brock is here!

If you or anyone you know is looking to get healthy, loose weight, increase their sports performance, and/or change their financial situation, please visit our website. We love helping people look better, feel better and perform better! Our team is growing everyday and we're always open to adding new members. Your life will never be the same!

An Ode to Brock {from Mammy}

I received a sweet little e-mail from my Mom this morning entitled "Ode to Brock". I was surprised to see she had written a poem about our sweet baby boy! I love it so much and can't wait to frame a copy for his nursery. I have no doubt that Mammy Cammy will surely be the best grandmother ever!

We've also got some super exciting Baby Chase news! Earlier this week we started seeing Brock move when he kicks! I thought it might freak Vince out a little, but he thought it was pretty cool. We love our little alien baby!

Ash Wednesday + A Tasha Tradition

It's Ash Wednesday! Lent is one of my favorite times of year. I love the peace brought from fasting, reflection and prayer leading up to Easter. While getting ready for Mass this morning I snapped a quick picture of one of Tasha's morning traditions. Everyday Vince packs his lunch and makes a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast in the kitchen. The minute he crinkles the bag of Ezekiel bread, Tasha girl bolts out of bed and heads for the kitchen to eagerly await a handout. She's a sucker for anything with peanut butter! I didn't have my camera ready, but I had my phone in hand and couldn't resist catching her in the act...

Hope everyone has a wonderful Ash Wednesday!

Lazy Sunday Night

After a totally exhausting and painful week of pregnancy, I was very excited to have time to rest this weekend. The best part was that Vince had {almost} all of Sunday off and was able to spend time at home with Tasha girl and me. We started the day with brunch at Another Broken Egg which has quickly become one of our favorite breakfast spots! After a day of lounging and a little bit of house cleaning, Vincent fired up the grill and made a yummy feast for dinner. I'm so thankful for my hubby's love for his grill! After I mixed up some homemade mashed potatoes and a big salad, dinner was served!

The best part of the evening was watching Tasha's excitement when we gave her one of our steak bones. She was in hog heaven and carried it with her throughout the house all night. It totally reminded me of the Traveler's insurance commercial with the cute dog stressing about where to keep his bone safe!

I think it might be time for our fur baby to get a haircut! Hope y'all had an amazing/relaxing weekend! Happy President's Day!

A Fiscal Fast

We're taking a fiscal fast! After contemplating what to give up for Lent this year and a few recent budget setbacks {Vincent's car}, we're ready to get back on track! We're taking on a minimalist attitude during Lent and cutting all unnecessary spending. In addition, we're committing to reading our Bibles every day together.  We're hoping this starts another daily habit for us, since it's easy to forget as hectic as our schedules have been lately. Lent starts this Wednesday, but I figured we'd go ahead and get a head start!

I started by putting together this week's meal plan and getting any groceries we needed. I came in about $15 under budget {woo hoo!} and I'm pretty sure this week should be fairly easy to stick to as long as Brock takes it easy on me!

{Sunday} Grilled chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, & salad
{Monday} Sunday leftovers
{Tuesday} Roast beef, carrots, boiled potatoes, & salad
{Wednesday} Turkey meatballs and wheat spaghetti, salad, garlic Ezekiel bread
{Thursday} Taco night
{Friday} Leftovers from the week or black beans & brown rice
{Saturday} Dinner with Uncle Kurt's family

On a side note, our AdvoCare team is on fire! Joining this company has been a HUGE benefit for our family and finances. We would love to share this opportunity with anyone who wants to look better, feel better, and/or earn an extra income. For more information contact us or visit our website!

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday night!

A Little Pinspiration : Mardi Gras

The Lenten season is almost here, which means Mardi Gras is just around the corner! I love the peace Lent brings leading up to Easter and the Mardi Gras celebrations make me miss my Cajun family even more than I normally do. My inner Cajun gets super excited at the thought of Beignets from New Orleans and King Cake! In preparation, I've gotten a little inspiration from Pinterest lately:

 3. King Cake

I foresee a Mardi Gras wreath for our front door in the near future! What is everyone giving up for Lent this year?

Valentine's Day {the Chase way}

Vincent and I agree that our all-time favorite date was our first Valentine's Day. It was special for so many reasons, but most importantly it was the first time we prayed together before a meal {a tradition we still continue today}. We never try to outdo our first Valentine's Day, so last night we enjoyed a sweet evening at home. Vince has been working SO much lately, it was great to have him home at a decent hour and all to myself! Here's a quick review of our super simple Valentine's Day at home:

1. We had a sweet start to the day with yummy cinnamon rolls {reduced fat, of course!}
2. Vincent came home to a fun Valentine's Night itinerary. {I customized printables from Eat drink Chic & added a little raffia to make them my own.}
3. Our cocktail ottoman was set up for a Couch Picnic & intended for a movie night, but my worn-out pregnant self fell asleep shortly after dinner!
4. We couldn't wait till after dinner to exchange presents, so fortunately I had Vincent's ready to go when he got home. He loved the framed Star Wars lithograph {complete with certificate of authenticity} and cards from Tasha girl and me.
5. Dinner is served! Our menu included a yummy salad, pecan crusted chicken breasts and cowboy casserole.
6. Save room for dessert! I had to hurry to finish the sugar-free cupcakes before Vince got home, so they didn't come out as pretty as I hoped. Luckily my sweet hubby didn't noticed the sloppy icing!
7. One of my favorite surprises...Vince made the bed before he left for work! I love coming home to a clean, happy bedroom.
8. My gift from Vincent...a massage and a calendar of him flexing his muscles! {Yes, he hired a professional photographer and also gave me a disc of the entire photoshoot}. I'm pretty sure there's no one else like him!

Hope everyone had a happy Valentine's Day!

bROCK + ROLL

What a weekend! While Vince spent most of the weekend working, I decided to get a few DIY projects done for Brock's room. First on the list was to reupholster my family's rocking chair. This chair was first used by Brock's Great Great Great Grandmother {that's a lot of greats!} and I am so excited it was passed down to incorporate in his nursery. Mom and I found a perfect blue and white plaid fabric on clearance at JoAnn's and with the help of dad and his handy staple gun our little chair got a quick + easy makeover!

Brock's rocking chair is eagerly awaiting his arrival in the nursery. I can't believe in just a few months this little gem will be getting a ton of use!

Most of today was spent helping mom and dad clean out our storage unit, but I found a little bit of down time to start on another project for Brock. I'm hoping to have it finished and posted soon with a fun tutorial!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Tasha Girl

Good Morning! Just a quick and simple post today to get this week going! I snapped this picture of Tasha girl last night while watching the Super Bowl. She was hoping we'd sneak her some of our gameday snacks!

Hope you don't have a case of the Mondays! Have a great week everyone!

A Clean House + Cupcakes

The one good thing about the hubby working Saturday mornings at the gym is that it gives me time to get all our chores and errands done without taking away from our family time. Since working on Saturday isn't much fun I like to try and surprise him when he comes home. This week he came home to a squeaky clean house and a batch of yummy strawberry cupcakes! We usually don't eat many sweets, but I figured today would be an exception!

It also gave me a reason to use our cute, little cupcake holder we received as a wedding gift!

I almost forgot, it's SUPER BOWL SUNDAY! Have you seen these super cute printables from Living Locurto? Unfortunately our beloved Cowboys are not part of the big game this year, so we're having a pretty low-key day in the man cave keeping our fingers crossed that we win some money in the Super Bowl pot we have going at work!

Hope y'all have a great Sunday Funday!

{LOVE.ALWAYS.XOXO}

Can you believe Valentine's Day is just around the corner?!?!? This year is already flying by! While Vince worked late last night I put together a little something for our front door.

This project was super easy and fun! I used a Styrofoam wreath {from the floral department at JoAnn's}, red yarn, & cute little Valentine cookie ornaments I found on sale at JoAnn's.

1. I started wrapping yarn completely around the wreath. It gets repetitive and takes a little patience, but it's worth it!

2. Use E-6000 {or hot glue} and add the decorations of your choice.

3. Hang and enjoy!

I've linked this project to Think Pink Sundays on Flamingo Toes. If you're looking for more great project inspiration and tutorials, check it out!
