Weekend with Brock

While Vince was in Austin this weekend for some Halloween partying with friends, Little Buddy and I had a fun, busy weekend here in Dallas.

{1} The fun started Friday with a Halloween party for the kiddos at my office. Brock loved dressing up as Popeye for the afternoon and this mommy had fun making his costume! Can't wait to take him "trick-or-treating" to see the grandparents on Halloween!

{2} Due to the cold weather Brocky and I didn't make it to SMU's Homecoming, so we scheduled a fun brunch with Auntie Liz and Uncle Travis at Buzzbrews on Sunday. We ALWAYS love seeing them and can't wait for them to come in town next weekend.

{3} I finally caught Brock crawling out of his chair. He's mastered the art of turning over and backing out of it. Guess it's time to find another solution!

{4 & 5} Brock starting sitting up on his own this morning! He successfully scooted out of his boppy and started supporting himself! Of course, he had to show off his new talent to his buddy, Tasha girl!

Puppy Love

My sweet hubby hates it when I post mushy photos of  him with our fur baby, but I just couldn't resist this time! At least I didn't post it on Facebook for all his buddies to see, right? Anyways, the picture below captures one of Vince & Tasha's daily love sessions. My mom always says, "The bigger they are, the harder they fall" and that is certainly the case when it comes to Vince and his Tasha girl. She has him wrapped around that little paw!

I'm heading to JoAnn's after work to get my supplies for this week's DIY projects. Hoping to have one completed tonight and posted tomorrow...stay tuned!

Sleepy Puppy

We were off to a bit of a slow start this morning and Tasha girl was feeling it to! She woke up only to move from the bed to the couch in the living room and immediately hid her face from the light under a blanket. I love this dog and her little personality!

Hope y'all had a great Leap Day! Happy Birthday to my sweet sister-in-law, Robyn, who celebrated her 12th real birthday today!

Ash Wednesday + A Tasha Tradition

It's Ash Wednesday! Lent is one of my favorite times of year. I love the peace brought from fasting, reflection and prayer leading up to Easter. While getting ready for Mass this morning I snapped a quick picture of one of Tasha's morning traditions. Everyday Vince packs his lunch and makes a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast in the kitchen. The minute he crinkles the bag of Ezekiel bread, Tasha girl bolts out of bed and heads for the kitchen to eagerly await a handout. She's a sucker for anything with peanut butter! I didn't have my camera ready, but I had my phone in hand and couldn't resist catching her in the act...

Lazy Sunday Night

After a totally exhausting and painful week of pregnancy, I was very excited to have time to rest this weekend. The best part was that Vince had {almost} all of Sunday off and was able to spend time at home with Tasha girl and me. We started the day with brunch at Another Broken Egg which has quickly become one of our favorite breakfast spots! After a day of lounging and a little bit of house cleaning, Vincent fired up the grill and made a yummy feast for dinner. I'm so thankful for my hubby's love for his grill! After I mixed up some homemade mashed potatoes and a big salad, dinner was served!

The best part of the evening was watching Tasha's excitement when we gave her one of our steak bones. She was in hog heaven and carried it with her throughout the house all night. It totally reminded me of the Traveler's insurance commercial with the cute dog stressing about where to keep his bone safe!

I think it might be time for our fur baby to get a haircut! Hope y'all had an amazing/relaxing weekend! Happy President's Day!
